Lupron Fibroid Treatment
Wednesday, January 12th, 2011The insurance can deny coverage for pre-existing condition, whether it is medically necessary?
I have a uterine fibroid, which has shown an ultrasound before obtaining health insurance. The doctor put me on Lupron shots to shrink fibroids and who paid for my treatments, but refuse to pay for the surgery. Is it possible that the insurance company will pay if it is medically necessary? Thanks
Yes they can. It means, no matter what it is. But in most cases, there is a waiting period. Once time runs out, you can have a procedure and receive required benefits under its policy it. To see if you qualify and for how long the waiting period (usually 12-24 months), read your policy carefully and if you still are not sure talk to the person who bought it, or a representative of this company and can tell you. But keep in mind that some policies include a permanent exclusion of certain conditions. Also note that you may have to undergo the procedure before the waiting period has expired and if you do, you'll pay for it in their pocket.
