Fibroids Symptoms Pregnancy

i am 43yrs old and have been trying to conceive for 18 months unsuccessfully..?

i have regular problem free monthly cycles and know that i am definately ovulating. Just after ovulation i get bad mood swings like i really want to kill my husband and what seem like early symptoms of pregnancy, breast pain, need to go to the bathroom early in morning but them my next period arrives. could i be conceiving and there be some problem that is causing the egg to be rejected. i have been pregnant twice even though it was over 17 yrs ago.has this happenned to anyone else? did you find out why? i am wondering if i could have endometriosis/fibroids or hormonal imbalance and not know about it.

Well first of all, a lot can happen to your fertility in 17 years. So whatever happened back then is probably irrelevant today. TTC in your 40s is a big undertaking. Your fertility declines at 35 and declines again sharply at 40. So at 43, the odds are not in your favor.

Having said that, if you are serious about getting pregnant you need to be PROACTIVE and aggressive. You need to have a complete hormone workup. Having regular periods that appear normal doesn’t mean your fertility is healthy. At 43, there is more than likely egg quantity and quality issues. You could have a blocked tubes or tubes….You don’t have to have had an STD to get a blocked tubes. Debris can build up over time on its own. There are also NO symptoms for a blocked tube.

The bottom line is this. You need to be seen by a fertility specialist… reproductive endocrinologist. REs are trained to address issues for AMA (Advanced Maternal Age) women. The longer you put this off the more you risk letting the last of your fertility slip away. Time and biology are not on your side, so it’s important that you rule out other things, such as a hormone issue like low progesterone, that can get in the way.

Good luck.
