Fibroid Resection

Has anyone been prescribed Metformin for fertility and DO NOT have PCOS, irregular periods or insulin problems?

I am 40 years old and have been ttc for 1 1/2 years now. I had a very successful fibroid resection surgery 8 months ago and my OB prescribed Metformin just after my surgery saying that she has seen good results with it for fertility. I do not have PCOS and have very regular cycles. My insulin levels are normal so I don’t really know why I was given it to begin with. After 6 months with no success, I decided to stop taking it. That very month I stopped the meds, I got pregnant. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with a blighted ovum 3 days ago at 8 weeks. My OB says I should still be taking the Metformin, she feels I need it. I just find it ironic that the only time I was able to get pregnant, I wasn’t taking anything. Has anyone else taken it without the typical symptoms it is usually prescribed for and had success? Thanks in avance for you feedback!
