Fibroid Look Pregnant
Anyone else being treated for depression while pregnant?
I am 26 weeks and I went to see the dr this morning. I have had a rough pregnancy so far. I have a fibroid that is about as big as my baby and I look like I have twins although one is my child and the other is a Tumor. The tumor sits on my nerve causing scyatiica. (Sharp pains to the bottom of my feet and burning) Before it was every now and then. The last two weeks it has been constant. I now struggle to get around to do anything. Even the bathroom is a task. I have reached my end and am sad because I have a hard time taking care of my family. The Dr and us have decided that we will take the baby out as soon as we know that we can. Our child is very heathly but the stress that I am under concerns the Dr a great deal. I find myself crying in the shower to hide the saddness. My husband allows me to cry in his arms and he is very supportive and worried as well. They put me on prozac today will it help? Has anyone else taken this while pregnant and it help? Im scared, sad, but faithful.
So many women become depressed in late pregnancy and because of your situation and pain of course you are under terrible stress. There are several antidepressants that are considered relatively safe in pregnancy. Prozac is one and it is mild.
I think it’s good that you are on the anti depressants. As a fairly natural based person, I still see the benefits of anti depressants. The incidence of Post partum depression is increased if you are depressed prior to the birth. Recognizing that now is an absolutely fantastic step. You are doing a good thing. In about 3 weeks you will start to feel better. I suggest you also speak to a counsellor. Get some steps and tools in place. The anti depressants will certainly clear the fog some but you will also need other tools such as talk therapy, good nutrition, self care opportunities (a nice long bath, a walk, a date with your husband) and exercise to help you focus on other things than your depression. Take it one day at a time and recognize that you are going to be ok.
PS..I would also like to note than you can safely breastfeed with many anti depressants. Many of them only secrete trace amounts into the breastmilk and by the time it hits the babies digestive system it is not even detectable in babies body. This info I received from a womens health conference and top doctor in pregnancy psychology.
