Is it possible to have Pulmonary Scar or Fibroid PTB even if you didn’t suffer from TB?

I checked 2 clinics and both seen something in my xray. The first clinic put me to test using the PPD and resulted positive whereas the second clinic put me to sputum test and found negative. I never had any TB before. Which clinic is more reliable? If ever I had this Pulmonary Scar or Fibroid PTB, where did i got this from. I am a Mechanical Engineer working in a Cement Plant.

It is possible to develop pulmonary TB or scarring from exposure to materials or chemicals in the workplace but I’m not saying that this is how you came to have it. Sputum will be negative if the condition is present but inactive and noninfectious. Incidentally, TWO negative for AFB sputums are needed to establish noninfectivity. A positive Mantoux indicates exposure but not necessarily active disease. Don’t bother with the Mantoux test in the future. Once you test positive you will always test positive. If ever in the future one is required, decline and inform whomever that you’ll need to have a chest X-ray instead and possibly two more sputum cultures.
