Do Fibroids Bleed During Pregnancy
What to say to someone that might miscarry?
My very very close cousin (same age as myself….I have 2 kids)….is having a lot of trouble during her first pregnancy. She is in and out of hospital. She has trouble with fibroids (size of a tangerine!!!) Last week she went to the hospital b/c she was bleeding…it ended up being a burst polup (sp?)….she’s back in hospital today…bleeding….things don’t look so good. WHAT do I say to her? I think anything coming out of my mouth sounds dumb and insensitive…help!! How do I comfort her and be there for her? She hasn’t miscarried yet…but things aren’t looking good…
I just had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago and first of all there isn’t much you can say. Everything sounds insensitive when you are going through a miscarriage or an impending miscarriage. (I knew I was going to miscarry 2 weeks before I actually did because no heartbeat on ultrasound) The best thing you can do is just be there for her. I found that people who said they were sorry only made me more angry about the situation especially if they had never gone through it (This was my 2nd miscarriage). She will need a shoulder to cry on and the best thing to do is just be there, seriously, offer her emotional support not empty apologies. I’m sure she will hear multiple times from doctors and family that this is “gods will” blah blah blah. Personally I just wanted to smack those people. Please, if she does miscarry just offer her a shoulder to cry on and a hug when she needs it.
