Breast Fibroid Cyst
Breast lumps??
I know lumps in the breast can be serious but all of the information I have found regarding little to no pain and small sized lumps indicate a cyst or fibroid. I have no other symtoms like redness, the orange peel skin or inverted nipple. I have come to the conclusion that it is not serious enough to persue. The test done for all lumps is fine needle biopsy and I hate needles. There is no history of breast cancer in my family but one sister did have lumps a few years back and they were benign. My lump is in the same area with the same symtoms. Wait and see???
It doesn’t sound like you have anything to worry about, but it’s always a good idea to have a doctor check you over just in case.
FYI, fine needle biopsy is NOT the test done for all lumps. I’ve had a LOT of cysts, and got them examined by doctors three times now — and not once have I had a biopsy. I had sonograms instead, and that was enough for the doctors to tell what was going on. (In one case, the doctor saw not only the lump I’d come in to have checked out, but found a SECOND cyst that I didn’t even know was there.) Sonograms can tell a lot.
If you’re over 30, you may also have a mammogram (I also had that two of those three times) — which wasn’t that fun, to be honest. But no needles in my case. I think they only use the fine needle biopsy if less invasive tests can’t tell them enough.
I also just had lumps, without redness or nipple or skin weirdness; just the lumps. And they were all cysts, diagnosed by sonograms.
Worth going to your doctor just in case. You may want to also mention to the doctor that you’re afraid of needles, so they can know they need to try other methods first if possible.
