Baseball Size Fibroid
Tumors grew..doctor wouldn’t take scan?
About five year ago I was diagnosed on an ultrasound what were thought to be small fibroid tumors. I went to my doctor every year and complained of heavy periods and asked to be rescanned but he told me they had not grown at all. (Supposedly he could tell this by an examination.) Finally after I started bleeding for three weeks he said I could have another ultrasound this month. These four tumors are now about the size of a baseball. Instead of explaining to me he walked in the room and said I’m turning you over to another doctor…..no explanation. Now that I am bleeding 24/7 I am worried I have cancer. Is there any recourse to this medical neglect. Should he have talked to me after being my doctor for 10 years??
Fibroids are usually benign, but can cause problems. He may be turning you over to a surgeon, or OB/GYN doc? They (you too!) will maybe want to get them out!
